Miss Chief and warmer days

It's raining! And snowing! And then raining again! And if you can trust the local weather forecast (khmm...) it's going to carry on like that for the most part of the following week.
Yeah, OK, whatever. I hope that Gilt will finally send me those cool rubber boots that I ordered (khmmm...) a while ago and I will be able to withstand the weather in style.
In the meanwhile, the shoe of the week - the rain ain't gona stop us from dreaming about summer and warmer days in general, right?

Beatrix Ong: a sandal named Shaylee

As it usually happens, right after I receive, unpack and try on yet another pair of shoes (boots, sandals, flats etc) I immediately start looking around for another object of my desire for the near future. And sure enough, it always pops up and I just have to have it. Again. Even though my current footwear possessions fall out of the two closets that we have, all the while demanding better living conditions. And I prefer not to think about the Amex bill which will be arriving at the end of the month.
Still, the shoe du jour these days is this transparent'n yellow sandal from Beatrix Ong. It's very bright and summery and check out the lovely bow at the back!

These sandals call for a flirty summer dress a la 50-s and Lucille Ball but nobody says we should listen

New York: it's still snowing!

It has been snowing steadily for the past couple of days and by this morning, I don't even know how many inches of snow we've got. Considering that it's not cold and the snow is melting quickly just walking around requires special footwear. So today I'm wearing my almost new cross-season boots (from some company named GMA) - faux fur upper and rubber foot area.
Can't help feeling like Conan the Librarian.
The boots.

The inches of snow.

This metal thingy is actually the top part of a rather tall glass candle holder.

Rene Caovilla

Rene Caovilla's spring/summer 2010 collection can be described with just 4 (four) words: very beautiful and very expensive. Why does everything I like have always be expensive?!

Yoox: so addicitve!

Yoox is a very, very addictive site. As a person who has been browsing it non-stop for the past couple of years, I can certainly attest to that. Just when you think that you bought everything you wanted something else inevitably pops up and  guess what? You want that too! Sales that they have every few weeks are especially hard to resist and you would need an extra-strong will power just not to sneak to Yoox - again! - and press the proceed with your order button.
Well, what can I tell you... A human being is sometimes weak and I'm certainly not an exception here. By now, my wardrobe has enriched considerably due to Yoox, especially the shoe department.
Le Silla is one of the brands that I find especially hard to resist. And on a few occasions, I didn't. Oh, well...
Here's the result.

Just as all the Le Silla boots that I've ever seen in my life, they have a very cute detailing - buckles.
I also dug out this faux mink coat of mine (from H&M) which goes rather well with the boots. One question: why did I have to find it now, when the winter is almost over? Oh, well...

Feelin' blue

It was a rather gloomy day today so I felt a strong need to spice it up.
Checking out the weather: it's glum allright.

My answer to the weather - all kinds of blue: cobalt, dark navy etc. Wearing it is definitely better than feeling it, that's for sure.
Le Silla boots, dug out from under all those other shoe boxes in the closet and immediately defended against our little predator. They're actually dark navy although they might not look that way on the picture (I need a better camera!)

The whole look.

Back home at night: the day turned out to be quite OK, after all. Thanks to the blue stuff, of course.

Is it summer yet?

I love winter but I'm sooo tired of bundling up every day!
Wanna wear these already.
Roberto Cavalli, waitin' for the summer.

The rest of the outfit - the dress and the cardigan -  are from Victoria Secret. Love'em so much!

Roger Vivier: wanna it!

This week's winner is this lovely pump by Roger Vivier. It's patent leather, it's darkest navy and it also boasts a crown-inspired buckle on the front. And... it even got a name -
God save the Queen!

The site I found it at - http://www.mytheresa.com/ - also suggests that if you splurged on these pumps you might as well go all the way and buy a dress to match.
Erdem, Adorna dress. Lovely! but expensive...

Gianni Barbato: mood Texas

As I said before and I believe I did so on more than one occasion, I love Gianni Barbato. And this passion of mine ain't subsiding with time - instead, it's growing ever stronger and if it were be up to me, I would buy his whole footwear collection. Every season!

In the meantime, cowboy-inspired boots.

They are made of patched leather, stitched up together in a very intricate, unusual and totally fantastic way.

And check out the heel!

Khombu

I love winter boots and I love Khombu. Hopefully this feeling is mutual since my fuzzy all-terrain boots that I bought God knows how many years ago (OK, maybe four) still don't show any signs of aging. Of course, our dog just loves stepping on my feet while pulling to yet another utiliy poll/ hydrant/garbage can but a few brushes of a magic suede brush from Aldo - and the boots look quite decent again.

At this point, the animal got bored from all this posing. Can we go already?!

I'm so booooored!

OK, I'm definitely leaving now!

Care for a snack?

As far as shoe design goes, I have to admit, there are some really wild things out there and this "crazy" tendency is getting more and more pronounced with each passing year. Just remember the reversed heels of Maison Martin Margela and Louis Vuitton not that long ago! This year, it's sandwich sole or double platform proudly presented (and incorporated in all kinds of footwear from shoes and sandals to boots) by one of my favourite Italians Gianmarco Lorenzi.
Ladies and gents, behold!
Double platform eel skin slingbacks

Same double platform, but this time, it's pumps

Sandals: simple

Fansy aka rhinestone-incrusted

Now on a more serious note, leather court shoes

And finally - boots (you didn't think I would lie to you about those, did yea?)

In case you're game to try one of those - Farfetch is your place of destination (http://www.farfetch.com/).
