Transparency is the key

Just as goverments all around the world warn banks and other hedge funds to be more transparent and hide less, designers seem to be getting on that wagon just as well adopting increased transparency as a new hot trend for this summer. I guess I already said that before... I guess it was just yesterday. Still, today I've lined up a few more of those shoes that I'm sure would meet even the most strickt requirements for transparency. Well, at least these definitely would.
Christian Louboutin, Jeannette spiked sandals

Zhora pump

These are, actually, quite out there, as well. Shawnita pump

Fetilo mesh & patent leather pump

Candy stud pumps (kinky!)

Got anything to hide?

It seems like another new/old trend is poised to do quite well this upcoming season, namely see-through shoes. I know they have been around for a while but who knew that this spring and summer, they're going to be just everywhere? A new twist is observed, though: if before it was either a trasparent heel or can't- hide- nothing front, now we can easily have both - combined in one shoe. Here are my favourites.
Prada, be per-plexed
Plex sandals

Studded plex clogs

Jeweled plex sandals

Plex thongs

Plex mary jane pumps

Plex slides

But if you don't feel like being out there that much, there are also more descrete models available. They knew to leave nobody out!
Brian Atwood, studded mesh ankle boots

Candela

Christian Louboutin (you didn't really think he would just disregard this trend, did yeah?) Madame tall boots

And finalmente, my personal favourite - Christian Louboutin, Mamimo Rete lace-up ankle boots.

Gianni Barbato

I really like Italian footwear. Great design, exquisite craftsmanship and overall happiness that seems to be written on each and every shoe or boot - how can one possibly resist?
One of my absolutely favourite Italian footwear designers is Gianni Barbato. Here are my very first GB boots which took me a while to rack down but God I was so happy! As an added bonus, they are also extremely comfortable and can be worn all day long if needed.

Camilla Skovgaard: you ain't gonna fall

It's cold in New York and what's really amazing that the snow that we had - and in generous quantities - on Wednesday is still there. The streets are rather slippery and sometimes crossing a street from one side to another makes you wish you were wearing skate shoes. Yes, just like Sasha Cohen or Michelle Kwan.
In the abscence of such footwear, though, Camilla Skovgaard is offering something equally stable but without steel or aloy - you can actually wear those on a plane! And check ou the sole - I love it!

Alexander McQueen: farewell

He was probably the most prominent out of his generation of designers. His talent was impossible not to admire or even to ignore - it was that big. Every time I would look at all those incredible gowns, skirts, jackets - you name it - I would find myself repeating the same thing over and over How does he ever come up with this stuff?
I can't believe that from now on, this question will only be in the past tense...
