Better late than never, or leather leggings
One of the trends that I wanted to try this upcoming spring but wasn't particularly sure about was leather leggings. Last fall, I saw quite a few girls in the street of Manhattan wearing them together with long (or extra-long) boots and short coats or shearlings and it looked great. And I wanted that too! However, out of the khm.... many pairs of boots that I own I couldn't find anythings suitable for pairing with something as avant-garde as leather leggings.
Until one day I looked at my favourite black leather boots that somehow I tend to wear most often and realized that I should do closet-shopping more often. That was the answer I was looking for and it has been there all the time!
My leather leggings experiment, part 1 (sorry for the quality of the pics, hopefully others are going to be better)

Endless temptations
It's amazing: every time I decide to go frugal (happens about a few times a month) there inevitably going to be yet another sale with some of my favourite designers and I will yield in again - inevitably so. Even if I do my best and avoid walking past Saks, Bergdorf, or down Madison Avenue in general one or two of those places (or more) will inevitably reach me through e-mail (which I cannot not check) still offering coupons, discounts and other stuff a gal just can't resist.
Today, it was theoutnet's turn to try to trick me into swaying away from the path of frugality. And they sell Brian Atwood shoes for whom I have very tender feelings.

Rene Caovilla: leopard'n lace
Recently, the I-must-have-it item was personified by the most amazing pair of Rene Caovilla boots which I saw at Yoox (which should probably be banned from my computer), struggled over for about a week and predictably surrended to in the end. Figures.
They are actually transparent the shuft being made of lace.

Going green
There are things that you buy and wear forever. There are other things that somehow end up in the closet/ top shelf/ end of the very last drawer. Yet there are these strange pieces that you tend to forget all about until you stumble upon them and voila - for days after, your outfits will be revolving around them. Strange, eh?
A perfect examples of such clothes is this coat from La Redoute which I bought a couple of years ago and saw in my closet a couple of days ago.

Spring cleaning and amazing closet finds
Spring cleaning is usually extremely boring. It's one of those things that you have to do yet tend to avoid for like ever until you just can't push it any further. Pretty much like doing taxes. But! Sometimes in the depths of your closet amazing things can be found - stuff that you couldn't find, forgot that you even had or thought you'd lost during one of those moving-ins/outs.
My recent find - Wills Fancy crocodile print pumps. I bought them a few years ago (when Zappos still offered good bargains) but didn't have a chance to wear much.

It's spring!
We had another truly spring day - nice, warm and very sunny! Of course, I couldn't miss on the opportunity to wear something that has been sitting in my closet fo what seems like ages waiting for the weather to change. I'm just sooo tired of puff coats and winter boots! I wanna wear heels, mega-minis and forget the phrase "bundle up" - at least for the next half a year or so.
